Allison Mathews, LCMHC
Life can feel overwhelming at times, especially when emotions, relationships, or transitions start to feel unmanageable. I work with children, adolescents, and adults who may be feeling anxious, sad, stuck, or frustrated, or who are struggling with changes at home, school, or work.
Children and teens often come to counseling when big emotions feel hard to control, school feels stressful, friendships are challenging, or changes at home are difficult to understand. Parents may notice increased meltdowns, irritability, withdrawal, academic struggles, or behavior changes and want support in helping their child feel more confident and secure.
Adults often reach out when stress, anxiety, or sadness begins to interfere with daily life, work, or relationships. Many share feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure how to navigate family dynamics, career pressures, or life transitions. Others feel exhausted from “holding it all together” and want a safe space to focus on their own needs.
I support clients with concerns such as:
Anxiety, excessive worry, or feeling constantly on edge
Depression, low motivation, or feeling disconnected
Anger, emotional outbursts, or difficulty managing stress
Conflict with parents, siblings, partners, peers, or coworkers
Adjusting to separation, divorce, grief, or loss
School or work-related stress, academic pressure, or bullying
Difficulty with social skills, confidence, or relationships
For private-pay clients, I also offer career and college counseling for those feeling uncertain about next steps, navigating career changes, or feeling overwhelmed by the college application process.
